Questions Carers Often Ask
Will I be employed by My Life My Care?
We are an introductory service, introducing carefully reviewed self-employed carers to families looking for trusted support.
Can I choose the type of care I provide?
Yes. We'll discuss your experience and preferences before introducing opportunities that suit you.
How are families matched with carers?
We consider experience, personality, communication style, location and compatibility to help create introductions that feel right for everyone involved.
What checks and documents will I need to provide?
You'll need to provide valid ID, proof of your right to work in the UK, an Enhanced DBS certificate, Public Liability Insurance, proof of self-employment, training certificates, and two verified professional references.
How much will I earn, and how do I get paid?
As a self-employed carer, you set your own rates and are paid directly by the families you support. There are no sign-up fees, and expenses such as travel are typically agreed and paid directly by the client.
How long does the registration process take?
This depends on how quickly your documents and references come through. We'll support you at every step and keep you updated on your progress.
What happens after I'm approved?
Once you're MLMC Approved, we'll contact you whenever a suitable opportunity becomes available and continue supporting you throughout the process.
